onboard video of R8 round nordschleife

Post by R8ROB » Tue Jun 26, 2007 11:03 pm

Hey all

Here is a video from an onboard camera of the R8 doing its lap at nordschliefe.
the time was 8.04 mins, which was a bit disapointing, not bad but could be better, on the video, the tarck looks damp? and also i have heard that the test vehicle had a problem, in the fact that it was not delivering the promised power... so hopefully another run would prove better...

anyway enjoy the link

That’s awesome! Thanks for posting Rob!

If only I had the opportunity to drive like that on my R8 test drive ;-)

maybe when its dry.... weather is crazy, ironic that you have the chance to test drive this beauty and it hammers it down like youve never seen before. fingers crossed for next time.

Absolutely awesome - on a damp track, what other cars would get close to that ?. As we all know lap times around the Ring are as a guide only as various companies will tweak their cars for the sheer publicity factor, slick tyres etc, but for my money, that time on a wet surface is more reflective of how amazingthis car really is ........... "only" 1year, 10months 3 weeks, 5 days until I get mine, but whos' counting :(

thanx alot for posting this great video ,

8:04min. !!! , the RS4 did 8:06 ! , i think the R8 can be in 7:50s
im very interesting to know more about the R8 because im thinking to replace my RS4 with it , is there another Nurburgring lap times with another driver ?

i noticed in this vid that the car is also understeering (not like the RS4) but still , i didn't saw any oversteer !
