I would've loved to be asked the question :D

I think it falls down to, what are you going to use the car for.

If I was getting an R8 for a weekend car that i knew i wasn't going to put many miles on, i would go for the manual box.

If i were to drive the R8 most days and take it for long journeys then it would be the Tronic box.

I'm not aware of the R Tronic box, does this change gear like a manual or is it still very much like a auto change.

The RS6 box i would describe as an auto changing box where the M3 SMG box i would describe as changing like a manual box (if you know what i mean)

If the Tronic box sounded and felt like a manual change i would go for that what ever.

If it was like the RS6 box i would decide on what i would be using the car for on whether i went for the Tronic or Manual.

I can only dream for an R8 today, you never know, could have one tomorrow ;)

Haven't really helped you have I :D Tell you what, go for the manual and if you don't like it I'll swap you my engine and gearbox for yours out of the R8.

I'll keep an eye on my inbox :P
