Vehicle introduction
We are delighted to provide information about the Audi R8 which was unveiled at the Paris
Motorshow on 27th September.
The 2-seater Audi R8 represents a new milestone in the history of Audi and is the pinnacle of
Vorsprung durch Technik. Feedback has been extremely positive from those who had the
opportunity to enjoy a short preview of the car at the recent TT training, with the progressive
design clearly supporting the Audi values.
The Audi R8 launches with a mid mounted V8 4.2 FSI (420PS) engine, quattro permanent fourwheel
drive, ESP 8 and lightweight construction utilising Audi Space Frame (ASF) technology. The
Audi R8 is available with manual transmission or ‘R tronic’, an automated manual gearbox with shift
by wire technology and a joystick gear lever for short, sporting shifts.
The Audi R8 was unveiled to the International Press yesterday at the Paris motorshow and the
following weeks will see significant press and customer interest in the vehicle.

yes, but it seems UK spec is higher than euro spec. We get 19" wheels as standard for one, although it doesn't mention R-Tronic in the optional euqipment?

I know each is designed to accomodate different criteria, needs and driving styles, but if there's a V10 550BHP RS6 coming along for the same sort of money I know where I'm headed. It is a lovely looking thing though.

Rumour has it that the V8 is the one to go for, cant say much more without getting someone into trouble. Happy to do off open channel for those seriously considering one of these, certainly changed my views on the entire thing.
