Product awarenes lauch

Post by simple1 » Sat Jul 22, 2006 6:49 pm

Seems Audi just shipped 800 senior sales staff to Germany to see the final development R8......... fancy hospitality and cars in rooms to look at them closely. Having heard all the stories, I was convinced to order one, a V10 version, so money put down, sit and wait for another two years for an Audi......... And hope that this time, they take prospective buyers on a jolly to Cannes to test frive them........... You listening Audi UK guys????? :bigblink:

From what I'm hearing the R8 might end up seriously over priced - £75k for the 420 PS V8. Why when you have the same engine in the RS4 for £25k less?

Car will be far lighter than RS4, and with ntronic/dsg type box.... and in my case a V10 engine.... I am viewing this as a replacement for my 996tt which will be 6 yrs old by the time this arrives.............

If its (the V8) under 1600kg with all fluids and no driver, I'm interested. Otherwise its too close to the 1650kg RS4 saloon.

I spoke to one of the test drivers, and to say he was impressed with it is an understatement!!! This was the V8 version.

I've also spoken with one of the test drivers and he described the car as totally awesome too. I've heard pricing will be between £60k and £90k for the 2 models.
Cheers,

Photos interesting - thanks. I won't fit in those seats though!

I'm interested in the V8 as as I get older I'm less interested in having the fastest car on the planet - day to day an S4 is fast enough for me. If they can do a reasonable spec V8 for £65-70k (say £60-65k basic) then I'm keen.

Price it too high, though, and it will struggle - look at the V8 Vantage Aston for a lesson in that.
