R8 V10 potential purchase

Post by ARSEY4 » Thu Jul 04, 2019 11:07 am

Hi, thinking of making the move to R8. I took a V10 plus for a drive but it wasn't a particularly good one. Masses of power and grip but felt a bit naff inside.
The car I am going to see has the Mag ride but is not a plus model, its under 7k miles with one owner and has everything except B&O.
Whats the real world difference between plus and normal and do I really need a plus model?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

They’ll all feel a bit naff inside now. They weren’t stella to start off with.

Plus has a bit more power and that’s about it. There wasn’t a massive list of options.

Hi, long time lurker but first post.

I recently bought a V10 Spyder (manual). It’s incredible, I’ve been super impressed.

I test drove a couple of plus models and couldn’t feel a huge difference in power tbh. Hard to compare as the plus models were almost all s-tronics (manual is very rare in ‘Plus guise).

Personally, I’m not a fan of convertibles but love the possibility for the rear screen to drop (only available on the convertible).

The extra carbon bits on the Plus are nice to have but were not worth the extra £££ for me.

Make sure you get the brakes checked on the Plus. Being CCBs, they will cost a fortune to replace. I believe the only way to have them checked properly (for wear) is to weigh them!

Happy to have a chat if helpful - drop me a PM with your number.
