R8 V8

Post by Stug360 » Tue Jan 23, 2018 10:31 pm

Hi all,
Thinking about an R8 V8 :boots: Whats peoples opinion on the le edition and the r-tronic box. Was leaning towards a manual. Also how does the mag ride hold up over time and is it worth it? Looking at these ones or similar. Might not be keeping it overly long so whats the depreciation likely to be over a year or so??

+1

If you don’t like it, DK (HYFR) will probably buy it back off you in about a week anyway. He goes through cars like Trump goes through big macs.

I’d have a V8 R8, but then I’d be doing the filters, exhaust, manifold, carbon clean, mapping etc. You could then be into V10 money, so makes you think should have just gone for the V10. The V8 is apparently a little underwhelming until it’s had the above work done. Moreso than the B7 RS4 it shares the engine with.

Unlikely to be doing any mods. Its more to scratch an itch as it were. Need to test drive a few i guess. More concerned with reliability and resale. If i like it and decide to get another further down the line then would be considering the V10.

So further to the above i am currently looking at a V8 le edition. Anybody know anything about the following regs/car. Original plate was WP61VRT. Has also had R8 UHU and A19 TEB. Car checks seem to come back ok and i am aware of the finance outstanding. currently on 20k so main concerns would be clutch and mag ride dampers. Hopefully will be able to get a main dealer to inspect it prior to purchase so anything that i specifically need to ask them to check?? i assume a MUT diagnostic will/can reveal true mileage or clocking and any remaps etc. thanks on advance.
