In final negotiations

Post by Winterrunner » Mon Apr 11, 2016 3:01 pm

Hi Everyone, B7 RS4 owner switching to an 09' R8 V8 manual if all goes to plan, just finishing up with PPI and final papers.

Few questions:

Problem areas? Considering this is my 3rd time at trying to purchase an R8, both before came back with leaking shocks from the magnetic ride, so that has to be a weak point, right? I know the FSI V8's are prone to carbon buildup, like my RS4, I would have it cleaned every 20-25K. Anything else? Quirks, prone failures of parts etc...

Easy must do mods? I plan to do a few cosmetic things, and was curious if there are simple DIY stuff I should go for, including VCDS stuff (I have a cable). I plan to enjoy it in it's stock for for awhile at least, will eventually do an exhaust and possibly some minor suspension stuff (solid mounts etc).

As crazy as it sounds she will be my daily driver, and I plan to run performance all seasons (will not see much, if any snow).

Any insight is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh
