Front lift and adaptive cruise are likely the only big items I'll add. Need to check front clearance on the turbo. It was fine on the C4.

Tempted by graphite blue, but I am not sure it'll age well. Carmine red is nice, though not sure it's nice enough for the dollar. Likely leaves agate grey.

Are you decided on the 911 now or still considering 570 and R8?
Agate a bit dull for a turbo isn't it?

Our boxster is that colour and my mate has a 997 turbo s in grey and it just looks a bit accountant like

Yeah, but don't want another blue car and not sure about red. Kind of limits options.

They do look quite impressive in Yellow, but likewise now a colour i could live with.

Of the no cost colours, only the Sapphire really stands out for me, although the black does look awesome clean. Oddly enough the white also looks good as compliments the cars many black accents, but i just feel a white 911 is a step too far so the Blue's loud enough to shine, but reserved enough to not shout.

Surprised myself in reigning the options in & another positive pointer to the dealer not ordering a demo car that was dripping with options as that's kind of misleading.

The R8 had i think £12k's worth, but other than the carbon engine bay, these were all packs & kind of must haves on that car so that brings the 2 very closely matched price wise.

In the 570S at Millbrook on Wednesday so decision should be made by the end of the week.

I was mistaken regarding the Porsche Experience at Silverstone, this is something i'd be given post order.

Yes, every new car ordered comes with a session at PEC. I'm having a session there in lieu of a demo car. So I'll get another bite of the cherry as a depositer day.

I couldn't do black, too high maintenance and looks crap as soon as any dirt appears. Sapphire is very nice.

Most of the options in the TTS are cosmetic. There aren't many genuine functional add ons. The R8 has a minimum selection of add ons as you say.

Enjoy that 570!

Just did the 'dreamer' classic; fire up the new car configurator and wow...£145k base for a Turbo S. The GT3 RS was £131k and the new 911R is a £136k which I bet will appreciate exponentially in value over the next few years.
Sepang Blue B8 RS4, MY14, All option packs, B&O, Adv Key, Adapt Cruise, Pan Roof, Akrapovic Titanium Exhaust, + more.
Previous - Sprint Blue B7 RS4 Avant, Ceramics, Sunroof, SS+, Buckets, FBSW, Bluetooth, 2010+ RNSe
Previous - Phantom Black B7 RS4 Avant, Black Optics, Titan pack, SS+, Buckets, FBSW

It does defy logic & a scenario i'll never understand. Have seen 911R build slots advertised for North of £1/2mil, which isn't too shabby if you're one of the lucky ones to get a slot. Not sure they'll sell at that level when lightly used 991 RS's are on the market for £1/4mil & used 991 GT3's at £150k, but not a position open to me so can only dream.

I do get the raw nature of those cars vs. the Turbo S, but in all but the most accomplished drivers hands, the Turbo or Turbo S would be the far quicker car on road & track, but without quite the aural drama of their N/A brothers. Creature comforts are also fairly important to me so other than the ability to run one for free & it be appreciating, not cars I could use on a daily basis.

That makes sense. Should be fun having 2 play days at Silverstone.

If you ordered last week, when are you expecting delivery? My dealer suggested an order now would deliver a car around Dec/Jan but this is still moving out so if I go the Porsche route i'll need to be ordering no later than May to secure a build slot for a March delivery.

Most dealers have ordered cars that are spec changeable, can you not get one of those and amend?!

Haven't got that far, but I'm aiming for March. They haven't got any slots left this year for TTS.

Don't need the car until March next year so the current wait is no issue, but will mean I'll need to place my order fairly soon.
