The problem with 911's in my mind, is that the new model always makes the old model look, well, Old
Put a 997 next to a 991 and it looks 10 years old
Ferrari's are the same. I remember the 430 being a lovely looking car, but now when you see one next to a 458, it looks like something from the 80's

This is one of the main issues for me - the manufacturer with the best build quality will swing it for me in the long run. My RS4 is ok, but overall Audis are rattle boxes.

There's no comparison between interiors on Porsche and Audi. Not even close.

What? You mean there's life after flimsy resonating door-cards?

What does that make my 205! :biggrin3:

Sure its a bit rough around the edges, but I cannot believe how well screwed together my 1999 A4 is. And how well the interior has held up. I test drove a similar model with 190,000 miles, again the interior was in remarkable shape (mats aside)

I know some posts were in humour but actually quite helpful in decision making.

Sadly when you look at Targa 991s a new one is yours for £110k with a nice specification or you buy a year old one that someone else has specified / driven for £98k.

So my simple swap the Aston for even money against a used R8 has now turned into an order for the 991.2 Targa 4S and me parting with the thick end of £20k.

You are very right about build quality on Porsche although my B8 RS4 was one of the best Audi's I ever owned and I still feel sad about selling it.

Hopefully this time I can keep it for 3 years not the usual 1 otherwise I take another £20k bath in a year.....

Sorry to turn the thread into a 911 one, I really am an Audi guy not a Porsche guy (and will still have 2 Audis vs 1 Porsche in the household)
Current Audis: Audi RS6 PE, Audi RS3 Sportback
Ex-Audis: RS4 B8, RS6 C6, A6 2.7Q, A4 2.8Q
