It should keep the gear if you push the lever left to full manual, whereas if you initiate manual from the paddles, it'll kick down
Or at least that's what I thought from my drive, but could be wrong
Not sure what effect pushing the pedal through that last little click at the bottom on the travel does though

This was my expectation too, like the 4

Didn't seem to be the case though which can is a massive frustration to me.

Our Porsche does it and I hate the gearbox for that reason.

Manual should be manual in my eyes.

That's odd, neither RS6 or Macan kick down when in manwell.

That is rubbish
I can't say i noticed it at the weekend, but that would annoy the crap out of me
Audi are lending me a car for a few more days soon, so I'll give it the foot to the floor test then

Yup

As does the boxster in sport plus

I felt a right <beep> in the R8 overtaking a van which had its window down and then it kicked down as I went by!

a) G - totally agree, the Mk1 is the better looker by a mile. a much more complete design. a classic design

b) changing up in M mode. Is there a kick down button on the pedal right right right down that the very 100% of the pedal ... you normally wouldn't go that far, but if you do, its there. It feels like a very precise button action ????

c) G - when you get it again for a few days, lets go driving in Wales, hit me up
