Fixed!

911 scores for me in having four seats. I just cannot justify a two seater, unless I can suddenly afford an F12.
Perfect correction, damn iPhone screens

I has an early deposit in, but pulled the plug on it in the end
At the time, I was offered 5% discount, and I think IIRC 5.5-6% finance
However, that was some time back, so depending on how early sales are going, you might get 4.9% and big discounts

I can't see Audi offering 10-15 off and 4.9% on finance any time soon, maybe in 18 months. Look at the support the last R8 got, I.e. nothing like that.

It maybe wishful thinking regarding discounts on my part but i see Broadspeed are already offering the Audi R8 Coupe quatt S tronic 5.2 FSI 540PS Petrol, V10 Automatic 2dr for
the on the road price of £113,913 a saving of £5587 already, so getting the figure lower in the upcoming months maybe difficult but in my opinion not impossible...

thanks

As a quick update it seems that coast2coastcars.co.uk appear to be offering the non plus R8 model for the sum of
£111,259.96........if this is true a deal maybe had if we can get the audi finance rate nearer the 4.9% mark

cheers stv

Other than the P1, I just can't warm to Mclarens, but I can't put my finger on why
Maybe it's the whole 'clinical Ron Dennis' thing that just doesn't seem to be fun, or the styling I don't like
Also, I find it odd that the 570S Test Drivers were all filmed and completed back in the summer, but they put embargo's on stuff so that everyone releases their videos and press material some months later after it's been vetted and approved
Whatever it is, it doesn't reflect in any emotion in the car and seems to be taking away the fun
I've not driven a 650s, which I understand is bonkers quick, but I have driven a 12c, and I didn't think that much of it other than sheer thrust

My old boss at Honda left a few years back around the time I did and went on to be Mclarens operations director. He took loads of people from Honda with him, and they all say it's a great place to work with a passion for the product, and the engineering is amazing. But, and it's a big but, there's something I don't like about the clinical nature of their cars, and I suspect, at that end of the market, a car needs passion or emotion, like a Ferrari or Lamborghini
Saying that though, I think the 675 is a lovely looking car

2015+ R8 Picture/Colour thread

I completely agree. They don't cause a stir like a Ferrari or a Lambo.

Ron is a twunt by all accounts including his own. Just too clinical, all those white floors and walls at the factory.

I don't doubt the engineering, but it lacks soul. They just don't do drama and noise like the Italians. And the R8 has fallen into the same trap.

I do agree about the clinical nature of the factory/Mr Dennis and how that's reflected in the cars. Fine for F1, but maybe not for road cars?
There is something wrong with the backend though, it needs a spoiler. feels unfinished, maybe it will look better in the flesh?
Both the 911, R8 and Merc look better for my money, although good 458's are coming down to that level now...

Seeing the R8 at its launch event on the 2nd so will be interesting to see what its like to sit in. No test drives yet.

Anyone driven a Huracan yet?

Completely agree i think its where i will end up as having kids now means the weekend car needs to do a bit more. F12 too expensive at the moment. :-(

R8 launch was a couple of month's ago!

It's more of the same. Cabin is better but it's still a 140k Audi with the service that goes with it.

Just been down to Porsche to swap plates for EU stamped, no problem sir. Do I owe anything....err, no, part of the service. Small things, but I'd not get the same from Audi.

Its the launch of an entire RS floor and the R8 arriving at this dealership.
Every RS model in one place, plus some R8's to sit in.

I don't mind the look of the Lambo, but every time you parked next to a 458/488 or even a new R8 I might be thinking i'd bought the wrong car...nice engine note though. Agree on the Porsche level service though.

Ah, gotcha.

Yes, I know what you mean about Lambo, but I'd still take it over the Mac and the R8. Especially once you hear one against the R8!
