Very helpful thanks.

The Estoril one is a 3.5 hour each way drive from me, the black only 1 hour. Think that makes it easier to figure which I drive first. Taking a day away from the family at Christmas to test drive a car wouldn't go down so well!

ask them to send you a HD video covering the whole car ... unless I'm mistaken, its 2015 and everyone has an eye phone

I have that thanks. It looks mint and only 2,500 miles so should not be worn anywhere. But you can't tell if it has been kerbed and has geometry issues or bounced off the limiter for 500 miles in 2nd or whatever. I bought a DB9 undriven once and it was a massive mistake!

Personally, there's no way in the world i'd be spending 80-90k on a car without seeing it in person, and having a decent test drive of it.
I bought my B7 RS4 from an Audi dealer years ago without having seen the car other than in their photo's. I wrongly assumed that because it was from a dealer and only a couple of years old, it'd be in as good a condition as the salesman had described. It had loads of problems with it, and the dealer washed their hands of the problems just citing it was to be dealt with by Audi Warranty at my local dealer, although many of the issues were with the condition
£80k's a lot of money to spend blind

Thanks.

My friends are mad with me for selling my British Aston to replace with a German R8. So I am forced to go test drive an F Type R tomorrow.

Will be an interesting R8 comparison but I think I will end up with the Audi.

The F-TYPE R compares very well to a mk1 R8 for me

Mk2 R8 I'm sure the R8 is far superior

Ps make sure you have the F in Dynamic mode, otherwise you'll wonder what all the fuss is about

;-) Same with the Aston. Not in sport it drives like a big diesel. Stick it in sport and throttle response is doubled; it is chalk and cheese.

This is just for my fun car; every day I take the wife's new Q7 or the A1 or an old Land Rover.... I will only do 4k miles per year so want to buy smartly otherwise depreciation is too awful to bear (as it is on the Aston btw). But it needs to be reliable and something I can leave at the airport car park, so that rules out crazy exotics (Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren etc).

The Estoril R8 is nice but it is 3 years old for £82k, even with such low mileage that seems like steep money when I can get one which is 1 1/4 years old for 10k more.

I can get cruise/camera fitted for around £1k so can resolve that issue....

Fwiw I test drove an s tronic V10 which I loved. The mistake I made was going to test drive a porsche turbo s which I ended up buying!

Both awesome cars but for me the porsche just had something else... Oh and the power is in a different league :D
