R8 EXHAUST INSTALL

Post by mick.harris » Fri Aug 07, 2015 9:27 pm

Can anyone recommend a garage/specialist that has fitted an aftermarket exhaust to the R8 please, I'd rather someone who has previous experience fit the exhaust,
my local audi garage are quite competent but have never taken the bumper off before,
I'm in Lincolnshire / Yorkshire area, but would obviously travel for a good install,
thanks

I fitted mine myself.

It's not too bad a job, I was sceptical about trusting somebody to do it for me!

The bumper has to come out, lights the lot, it's a good day to do the job start to finish!

I don't know anybody up north, but heard good reports of awesome gti, unit 20 etc. maybe put a call into Milltek, see who they have sold a few to in your area?

Good luck

No mate. Ricky is independent but he was the R8 development testing guy for Audi UK and also was responsible for the R8 Plus TV advert.

Thanks Classba!

Yes I have installed LOADS of exhausts on R8 and I understand your nervousness about it.

It is a big job (not massively complex) but takes time and precision.

Drop me a PM if you want to chat about installing it.

Thanks for the mention David.....always good to know I have happy customers! :beerchug:

Cheers Ricky

Hello,

I am back working for VWG in SEAT at the minute, but still doing bits and pieces on the weekend for people.

Was setting up launch control on a Ginetta running MoTeC at the weekend, got an R8 motor to build for a customer in Singapore.....still lots going on.

When do you need it doing HYFR?

Cheers Ricky

just a quick update on my exhaust,
I went for the larini 'sport' valved model, although I'd never even heard one before, larini say 99% sold are the club sport,
my exhaust is certainly louder than stock, but not too loud, no booming or resonance, and when the valves open it makes a great noise, so really pleased and relieved to get it on today,
J.B.S. in chesterfield have done a few installs and fitted it without a problem,

Saw on Twitter yesterday that Ryan Edwards Fabrication (@ Bicester Heritage) has an R8 in for something. Anyone on here? His exhausts look pretty darn lovely.

Sold my 2012 R8 (V8) today, The larini will be coming off next week to go back to standard, so the exhaust will be going up for sale, it's only been on for 2 days and sound great, not too loud, with no resonance, (quite noisy for 30 seconds on cold start)
it was a perfect fit and I waited 6 weeks for it to be built,
it's the larini 'sports' model with valves, and cost me over £2000 ,
please contact me if your interested in a bargain,
