I was the same, but then I've only heard it first hand at goodwood, where it was going up the hill with an Fxxk Ferrari and various other very loud, very tuneful cars

Re the manual box. Personally, I'd be very happy with a paddle shift, but there is a big chunk of the Porsche GT car market, who want that final peice of interaction that a manual box affords.
I'm sure Porsche did their homework though, and I understand the PDK suits the nature of the GT3 very nicely, and other brands providing driver/track focus cars (ie ferarri) ditched the Manila years ago
Personally, in regards to the R8's - I've done 1000+ miles in both Manual and stronic v10 R8's, and I'd take the stronic every time

Against the competition at Goodwood it barely made a noise.

Manual vs rtronic, then manual for the win as my driving involves a lot of pottering around and slow parking manoeuvres, and my experience of rtronic/egear has shown that this box only works well when you're on it
Manual vs stronic, then s-tronic takes it for me
Each to their own though, but I never was much good at heal and toeing :)

Just that front grill. Horrid. The rest looks sharper.
But the mk1 is still a looker.

Stonking value at 50% of the mk2 for the same power, engine, noise, brakes etc etc.

I sold my last set of R8 buckets to Denmark.

LOL... that's from me :big blink:

My Audi head tech sent me that pic... they were in Vienna with Audi for the Twin Cup World Finals... there were 28 x 2015 V10 plus and 6 x R8 GT there on the day.
Too much power is barely enough.

Mk1 R8s dropped a few k across the board in Sept book.
2012 plus for £7X is wholly do able.

Yeah, I noticed three months ago you couldn't get a V10 for 60k unless it was a silly miler. Now there's quite a choice for that price. Always the way when a new shape is previewed I guess? Even Audi have one for 60,995
