With you all the way.

When you add in dealer experience and price the R8 looks horridly over priced. It'll drive well but it's not enough.

Similar pricing now too with 991 GT3's dropping to under £130k from the silly bubble where they were going for circa £175k a few months back
I think I'd still begrudge paying £130k for a car that listed 12months ago at £104k

Agreed, but it still makes the new R8 look horribly over priced.

I suspect the real competitors are the 911 Turbo and Turbo s, and the mclaren 540c

Yes, in which case there's a problem as 991.1 turbo s was quicker than incoming R8 v10 plus, despite the apparent power deficit.

Add 540 into the mix and I just don't get it.

Where do you see 991 GT3 prices being in 12 months?

Without a crystal ball, I'd not like to guess
Think of the upcoming market factors though ;
Existing 991 GT3 owners taking deliveries of GT3 RS cars and selling on their GT3's (more cars in the market = lower prices)
Impending 991.2 Gt3 car ?

If I was to hazard a guess, I would expect non Club Sport cars to be back to list by Xmas

If the next GT3 will be announced in the next 12 to be N/A, I think it will be N/A, I hope it will be ... then 991 GT3 prices should drop faster and lower me thinks

Even quicker if it's a manual gearbox

Im a guy of a certain age, but not quite piss and slippers yet.. However I really dont get the fascination with a "manual box". True, the Slush Boxes of a few years ago were truly awful but the DCT on my S4 really changed the game for me and I've been led to believe that the PDK box is even better.

So, assuming you don't have wrists of lightning (even bam would struggle to beat .2 of a second) why the nostlagia of manual boxes?

F1 cars dont have a clunky nobs in their cars (bar most of the currrent drivers) and seem pretty fast?

Isnt it time to move on? :)

very unlikely it will be manual, but you never know. there is only a rumour of 911 GT of some kind with a manual box

for the ones who want a manual, it's not about the speed

but i could not complain about 991 GT3 or a 458 with a paddle box if i had one, just got to have a manual also :)

IMO new R8's engine and sound (esp the Plus) are awesome, shame about the car's looks

Oddly, I thought the sound was disappointing.

i've only heard it on YouTube and it was the Plus, but I think I see what you mean, it could be better when you hear other super cars. crap looks is what really attracted my attention though because if it looked great, then nothing could beat a N/A V10 when all others going with downsized turbo engines, but that's my view
