R8 Shopping - best bang for buck

Post by hvm5 » Thu Apr 30, 2015 6:28 pm

Currently in a B7, been looking at B8 RS5's, RS4's at around the 50k mark. Never really considered an R8 but all of a sudden it makes sense. I reckon I'd lose way more on a nearly new RS4/5 than I would an R8. My question though, is which R8 offers the best value at the moment? The pre facelift V10's or V8's(manuals)? PFL V10's seem to start around £65k upwards. Ideally I'd love an S-Tronic facelift car but they start around £75k. It's more than I'd spend on a B8 but it's gonna hold value a lot better, it's just finding the capital to fund the purchase. I was planning to pay cash up to 50k. Not sure I'd want to move out of a 07 RS4 into an 07 R8 with high miles, the V8's tend to dry up around 2011-12 and you can definitely understand why audi aren't

I was in the same boat as you. I bought a V10 because I wanted the V10 not the V8 and came out of a B7 RS4 too. That was pretty much as in depth as I cared to get and probably paid more than others may have done but at the end of it all, I've got a car I love. So what if I've paid a few grand over the odds? All I know is that I have a r8 V10 r-tronic that's all black. I wanted the purchase to be a pleasure not an absolute drag getting in depth with spec, seat colour, how many stitches are in it... Truth is mate, think about it and answer your own questions and get the car you want because we all want different things.
