V10 Plus - Wheel swap & Matte grey bumper parts

Post by iluvmercs » Fri Feb 27, 2015 5:03 am

Morning all.

My first thread in this neck of the rs246 woods, so please be gentle :P

After driving one 18 months ago, I have been tentatively looking at the V10 Plus as an enjoyable place to go after my RS4. I like the cars, but I am not a fan of the matte grey finish on front bumper air intakes, front grille and the rear number plate surround.
I much prefer the gloss black of the standard V10.
From what I understand, the front bumper parts are easily replaced, but is this true from the rear section, or is it integral to the bumper?
Would anyone know a ball-park cost of these parts/

Also, I'm not a huge fan of the standard Plus alloy wheel design, much preferring the 5 twin spoke design of the earlier V8s.
I know this design was used on the GT and V8 Limited, but to make sure would anyone please be able to confirm that these wheels would be a simple straight swap, there being no change in off set between pre and post facelift?

Many thanks in advance for answering these small queries :)

Darren

Hi Darren, and welcome over from PH :)
The twin spoke wheels are (was) an option on the V10+ (as above), so should be a straight swap as long as you find some that are >13MY as the design of the wheels changed slightly at this point

there will be a few R8 owners that may think the opposite and be up for straight swaps,R8talk.com would be your best bet.

Thanks for the replies, guys, and the R8 section welcome :)

I've seen those facelift twin spokes, but much prefer the original V8 design - thinner spokes and circular centre caps make it appear a cleaner look to me. Maybe I'm just weird

I hadn't considered a straight swap with other owners, thanks.

Darren, are your wheels titan or black in colour?.

Thanks.
Too much power is barely enough.

Sadly I don't yet own an R8.
Just hoping to answer a couple of queries at my early stage of hunting.
