I would go Porsche turbo over v8 r8

Make sure the Porsche is mint, they are very history sensitive, need loads of paperwork to keep strong residual

Fwiw, I'd look at a 997 turbo over a v8 R8 everyytime for the money, but they're not without their pitfalls too
Buying a Porsche can be a minefield, so go into it with your eyes open and do some research
Loads of things to look for that you don't get with Audis, including over Rev records etc
Pistonheads has a pretty decent resource for 997T buying

Current - 04/18 B9 Rs4 Nardo Grey
ZX10R Race bike - 210bhp and a few skid marks on the seat ;)

Noted. Ta v m.

A mate of mine is well into his Porsches (had an original 911 and a very rare RS Lightweight!) so im taking pointers from him.

But tbh, I still really fancy an R8...maybe have one for a year then go 997. I'm working on the belief that R8 prices seem to have bottomed out whereas the 997's are still depreciating (slowing down though I think).

I'd rather have a V8 R8 than a 911, yes a Turbo will be faster and probably faster than a V10 tbh but a V8 is fast enough for everyday use. You need to drive both, nice decision to have to make.

I would defo try a V10 and V7 back to back

V10 gives a much more exotic sense of occasion with the Lambo V10

This V7 you speak of.....

911, even in 997 form is better to be in. R8 interior is a major let down.

Until you look at the switch gear and dash. And even then the finish compared to 911 doesn't come close. The latter just has better materials.

you are too busy looking at the fit women eying up the car, than have time to look at the switch gear or dash

whereas in the 911 you daren't make eye contact with pedestrians giving you the W sign, so you are forced to stare at the switch gear and dash

Give over!!

You can't stare at the dash in a TTS as your eyeballs are being pounded into your skull.
