Think the R8 is a tad too wide for Welsh B roads, and the V10 is definitely way too quick!

Tbh, after having done it in an RS 3 and RS 5, the RS 3 as much as I despised it, is the best out of the 3 for attacking Welsh B roads

R8 V10 - too wide and toooo fast!

RS 5 - too heavy and not enough torque

RS 3 - feels like a to kart on these roads and DSG and turbo torque make for swift progress, and 4wd grip and it's unstoppable on these roads and I can happily say the RS 3 would leave my V10 for dust on these roads....yes we know it under steers like a biatch but on a public road at NSL you do t really push the car beyond its limits of grip.

Sounds like you had fun though DK. I did it the other year in my M3 and it was unbelievable. The car and roads went hand in hand, absolutely amazing. Need to give it a go in the B7 now too really.

It was Blimmin cold when I went
I agree about rs3 being the perfect sized car for up there, or even TTRS

Rs4 was good, but either a bit too big or where the roads are bumpy, it got chucked about a bit

Was fun in my old TVR, but you were expecting to travel backwards into a field or granite wall at any moment

Having driven an RS4 and S3 back-to-back down the same B road, I had so much more confidence through corners in the S3 on 18s than the RS4 on 20s. RS4 is 8.5 cm wider in the wings than the S3 - probably over 10cm wider wheel rim to wheel rim. Sounds daft, but the S3 felt like my S4 and 205 rolled into one.

Have no idea how owners of RS4s on 20s don't wreck your alloys down country lanes and through tiny rural villages! Rims felt so exposed

Vspokes stick out past the tyres more than rotas. On my old RS4, first wheel got scraped on 2nd or 3rd day of ownership ! doh
