Any clues...4 times now...all intermittent

Unlock car, turn key in ignition, everything normal, turn key to start......nothing.....not a thing.

Lock car, unlock car, try to start again, foot on brake, foot on clutch, foot off clutch nothing.

Get out of car, curse like a navvy, threaten to burn car if doesn't start - T5 short stay car park!!!!!

Lock car again, unlock car, get in, pray it starts, foot on brake......yay it fires into life

EPC light now on!!!!

Any suggestions gratefully accepted as now booked into stealer, but given problem is intermittent, not sure it will show on diagnostics.

:bigblink:

My money is on dodgy clutch switch, if its not sensing that your foot is on the clutch it won't start.

Happened on my RS4.... pain in the arse!

So a week at the dealers.

"We can't find any fault - we think its the tracker battery"

Errr no!! Look again

2 days later - "we got it to fault (not start)"

Great says I - can you fix it?

"We are doing tests on the vehicle"

2 days later

"we can't find any fault"

This is despite me sending them a video of the car not starting when the key turns in the ignition

GRRRRRRRR!!!! have the car back now - so far its started - just not sure what to do if the gremlin happens again

Its booked into Swindon Audi March 12th for its £99 oil service :jump_clap: which they said they will honour

Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you unlock the car? Could be something to do with that. Obviouslythe pump hasn't failed as its intermittent, but could be some sort of loose connection, etc?

I will listen out for it next time I'm in it - thanks for the suggestion - if it keeps happening and they can't fix it, I will chop it in for something else. Nothing worse than intermittent faults
