Gt spoiler + V10 plus

Quick question ;
Can you fit the R8 GT spoiler to a V10 plus. I remember that maybe the rear in built spoiler on the V10 plus moves, but I'm not 100% sure and I'm assuming it doesn't move in the R8 GT with what appears to be a fixed single piece carbon spoiler
I know I probably should've paid more attention on the extended test drive, but I think I was too busy concentrating on the forwards action :)

The dealer said they don't offer it as an option, but that, obviously doesn't stop me sourcing one and retro fitting

Yes you can.
Just deactivate the rear pop up.

Go on R8Talk and you find it all there.

There are very good replica aftermarket GT wings also.

Yeah, I saw a few of those as I think OE GT wings are £8k+, which seems pretty steep considering

I'll have a look on R8talk, cheers

Yeah, a spot on aftermarket is around £2-£2.5k

Exactly, it's a big difference for what's fundamentally a very simple form to mould

I really like the Gt spoiler and I think it sets up the rear shape of the coupe
I had a black v10+ demo for the day recently and my wife thought I'd brought a TT home, so I'll go for a slightly more standout colour and try and source a spoiler
I'll deliberate over spec for a while first and get my house move out the way, but currently line of thought is ;
Brilliant Red Stronic car, black 5 arm wheels, black buckets, red stitching, carbon kicks, alacantara roof lining, suede wheel if spec able, advanced nav, rev camera, aftermarket gt spoiler / poss valved capristo

Spot on spec.

Before I even scrolled down I was going to say red.

I really miss my red one. After I had it detailed it just looked phenomenonal set against the carbon and titan wheels with the black bumper inserts.

Black doesn't do the R8 justice...wish I never got a black one, but was the right price...

Jeez, that's going to be 150k!

Nav is nav, RNS-E or RNS-E, it's one of the few things that I don't like about R8.

991 Turbo S is likely to be my choice, will wait a year and look for something then. New R8 due to be announced next year, so may be a bargain to be had, however.

A new R8 is at least 2yrs away from customer delivery.

An R8 Plus S-Tronic is a relative bargain when you compare it to a Macca, 458, SLS ... At the end of the day, despite the Nav, its easily in that class through its performance and package despite the fact its ageing now.

doodlebug - have you lots the plot? A porker?!

Get out!

The 991 turbo appears to have sorted the lack of driver appeal that the 997 suffered from. Add that to what is an outstanding package, 60 in well under 3, and all the tech for round about R8 money it has to be up there.

The r8 does appeal, but I couldn't bring myself to order one. I'll see what's floating about in 6-12 months. I think I've parked the C7 for now.

The Rs4 would stay anyway as that's the family wagon.

Not too bad actually, and there's some really good deals to be had through Audi at the moment too, so they'll chop that right down still

Porsche 991 Turbo s is going to be £165K+ by the time you make up the desired spec. Porker will, of course, be an awesomely fast car, but it's a little out my reach financially just yet and I had a drive of a 997 turbo S and as crushingly fast it was, and bloody hell it was fast, it was a little cold for me and it sounded pretty crap in comparison to the v10 of the R8

991 Turbo S.

Sound and looks, the R8 wins hands down.

At super car level, those two things are quite important as its an emotional purchase.

Agreed. But I think the 991 is a good looking beast, more so than the 997 was.

As for cost, 991 Turbo S comes very well loaded, you'd do well to add another 25ks worth of kit.

Yes, I do like the 991 design.

But, to everyone man and its dog...its just another Porsche.

Although maybe to some the R8 is just another TT...
