R8 V8 manual or Auto?

Post by classba » Tue Mar 05, 2013 2:05 pm

I'm toying with the idea of buying a R8-V8 but not sure which type of the gearbox is better. My heart is kindof set on the auto ( misses can drive it too then) but I'm sure there are pro's and con's.

Any advice much appriciated thanks.

Both have their merits!

Comes down to trying them both and personal preference and driving style.

I love the clack, open gate of manual but also love the paddles of the RT.

That doesnt help much does it...!?

Thanks Dave. I'll try them both soon and I know yours is a stonker of a car... If I like the manual then I'll contact you. Thanks again.

I've just bought a V8 R8 and tried out both the automatic and manual...While the auto is a great car the manual is just the best imho :bigblink: ...the gearbox is slick and changing down never sounded so good!! If you want to be lazy the engine has enough torque to potter around in just about any gear but if you want to play, use the box and smile from ear to ear....

Thanks MR8te... I prefer the auto box on the R8 ( i'm a lazy sod plus I drive in London much ). Also tinkering on the idea of a Porker GT3 RS as well. :bigblink:
