Part number for R8 "sports steering wheel"

Post by TonyHayers » Mon Feb 11, 2013 11:26 pm

Can anyone help me with a part no. for the "sports steering wheel" (without paddles) please.

I think it comes standard with the v10 spyder? as pictured below...

Have you looked on Ebay; there's quite a few I think although not necessairly for the R8 as the S3/RS3, TTRS etc all come with a similar wheel.

Yeah, there's lots of "S-line" wheels on eBay which are quite a bit thinner and not as contoured as the R8 v10 wheel (which is same as RS6 I believe, but that only comes with paddles). TTRS wheel is closer, but still not as nice IMV.

That is a "special" in the pic... looks like a RS6/3 wheel with a R8 badge to me.

The R8 wheel up untill now (facelift) is skinny and smooth leather.

The facelift wheel can be bought now in that style, "fat" with perforated leather grips or completly smooth and has a new FL R8 badge (red square).

I have both now, looking to sell my PFL wheel but it is paddle shift.

Yeah, that's the one. Do you have a part number for it Nudenut? It will at least give me a clue to the non-paddle shift version.

cheers.

Yer, I did try Audi and TPS, but they have too many options in EKTA and can't tell me which is which- shame EKTA doesn't have photos or at least useful descriptions!

Actually, what might help is to get a VIN for a 2012 R8 ? that might help them find it. They did say it would be easier with a VIN but I'm doing an upgrade to an RS4 so don't have one.

They can normally use the number plate too rather than the VIN if it's a UK supplied car. you could probably find that from the net.

Not an R8 wheel I know but this may help?

TTRS wheel:

Steering wheel part number: 8J0419091N
Airbag part number: 8J0880201N
Wiring harness part number: 8J0971589F
VCDS HEX+CAN owner - covers all VAG cars (PM me if you require VCDS coding in Kent)

Just been into Audi, my friend there is going to get the VIN from the 2014 car under covers in the showroom 8)

He'll then be able to look up the part number for me on ETKA and I'll post it.
