Looking at buying an Avant

Afternoon all!
I'm considering purchasing an Avant and looking at spending somewhere between £20 - £25k.. I really like the Avus Silver or possibly Daytona Grey, I've been quietly looking online for a few months now and I'm struggling to work out why some cars sell very quickly and others don't.
Must haves are FBSW, buckets, bluetooth, ideally under 50k miles but overall condition of the leather and paintwork is most important to me. Not too worried about black optics.
I've been pondering over this one for a little while though have yet to go and see it -

For me it's got the right spec, though would have liked privacy glass. Mileage is low and it's a late car. What are your thoughts on why it hasn't sold?
I went to see one in SW London yesterday at just under £29k, Black with full spec and 26k miles on the clock but for me black isn't practical and it's top money.
Any advice/help/input would be much appreciated.

Viewing is really the only way to tell, the important interior shot of the wear area on the drivers seat is obscured so perhaps for good reason? Avus isnt a popular colour or strong seller so if you like it then i feel you could get a deal. It appears very good value on face value but veiwing could tell a different story.Colour is the main thing with it i think,it just does nothing for an RS4,colour is very personal and people like what they like just bear it in mind for re sale.Daytona looks awesome very stealthy yet mean!Your budget gives you choice of the crop and being patient should see you find a nice one! Good luck theres plenty of info on here to help you.

I've got an Avus saloon and love the colour. It was always the colour I wanted. It looks amazing when polished up, almost a very light blue. It's definately personal choice.

That's Interesting, thanks for all your input. I hadn't realised avus wasn't that popular so perhaps that's the reason this has stuck about. I guess also it must be fairly straight forward to get the seat bulsters re-trimmed if necessary, I can't stand shiny or damaged leather.
I have to dispose of my car first before i'm fully In the market.. So a chance to get my eye in.
Are DRC issues easy to spot?
Thanks again to you all for your help!

IMO you shouldn't be put off by any colour unless you have a very strong preference - condition is getting much more important as these cars are getting older, and despite the rumours spread by Sprint Blue owners, they're all just as quick as each other!!

Yes some colours are more popular than others but if condition is equal, in practice that mostly means one colour might sell quicker than another.
When I was looking I had a personal preference for Phantom or Sprint but came across a cracking deal on an Avus Avant and haven't regretted it for a moment. As the earlier reply, it looks fantastic when shiny (to be fair though, so do most colours!)
Check out the FAQs for DRC info - good luck and enjoy the hunt!

I was also looking for an avant but was only looking for Phantom, Sprint or Daytona and wasn't willing to consider the other colours, but if I had seen Jonny's car (from this thread
http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=99882) then I would add Avus Silver to the choices provided it had privacy glass and the optic pack.

Jonny's car would be my ideal by the looks of it!! So Jonny/Dalo.. if you're looking to sell?!
Chunky monkey, if it wasn't black I'd be very interested.. just not practical for my use - 15k a year, mixture of mucky country roads and Central London. I have a navy Range Rover at the moment which is bad enough. Out of interest how much are you looking to get for it? Also how have you managed to do so few miles?
If anyone does come across a pristine Avus Avant with lowish miles then do let me know..
Thanks again for all your advice/help.. certainly reassures me that I'm making the right decision.
