4 new tyres

Had to finally bite the bullet this month and get four new tyres. Went for Michelin ps2's at my local Michelin dealer 'tyre finder' balanced and fitted £840 all in. Thought that was a pretty good price!?

Does seem a good price. I've been looking this week at prices for replacement Pzero's. Found blackcircles/kwikfit to be most competitive prices (fitted/balanced). Their prices for PS2's are nowhere near as good as yours

I thought the ps2s were replaced with the newer improved ps3s quite a while ago?

Are you sure you had ps2s fitted?

Good price there matey,ps2 and ps3 are still available along with super sports, slight difference on amount of cuts in the tread blocks is the only visual difference, the ps2 looks the sportier version with more solid blocks? Ive not run ps3 or super sports so maybe someone else can spill the beans? Ive always been happy with the allround performance of ps2 they are the best tyre for these heavier cars imo.

Im currently running super sports...

Very happy with them but not cheap...Ive covered around 10000 miles on them and im in need of a replacement set..

However this time around, Im going to try to cheaper vreds to see what they are like in comparison

never used any of them, but i'm at the moment looking for 4 new tyres as well. as far as i have read, the opinions are that the ps2 are nicer than the ps3 but the supersport are better than both. as i said, not my experience...

btw, i saw supersports for that price somewhere... (but then again i saw them for 280 each as well)

ha we were posting at the same time! i'm going for vred's as well. seemingly they are the best ones in the wet and even ok-ish in the snow. especially living in Scotland where the roads are wet most of the time....

Cheapest i found is a guy on ebay (167 a corner iirc)

You might want to read the recent tyre test (either evo or Car i think) as the new vreds didnt do very well overall, saving 40 a corner could be a false economy.Worth a read before you buy! 10k from supersports  i think il stick to ps2, i dont hang around but get alot more than out of em.

Yep definitely ps2's as they rang the factory to see if they were available. Took threes days to come. Compared to black circle who claim to be the best priced, tyre finder beat them :)

The Eagle F1s for me everytime! Much cheaper than some of the other premium tyres and in my opinion better in all conditions.

I also need a full set this month and am not sure what to get. I've always had Michelins on my previous cars and found them to be great for grip in the wet and not too heavy on wear. My RS4 came with a pair of Avon's on the front and a pair of Conti's on the back. It's not been lacking in grip but now that they're down to 2mm i felt the back end slide yesterday on the way out of the hand car wash place.

Anyone else had experience of the Avon's on theirs. They don't appear in many searches and I wondered if Avon still do them. Failing that I'll stick with what I know and get some PS2's.

brilliant tyre Mike

Re Avons...I think the load rating on them is too low, hence why not many people fit them
