Anyone running a Capristo exhaust?

Post by Noyjatat » Sun Sep 30, 2012 7:43 am

Been looking at all the videos of the different exhaust options and thinking the Capristo one is for me. I love the look of the pipes and think the sound rivals even the Milltek.

Does anyone have this fitted and if so where did you get it do e and what do you think of it?

Here's a link to a video of the Capristo.

A quick google search comes up with this

http://www.capristouk.com/products/capr ... st-33.html

YouTube vid mentions 2820 euro export price - so that'll be plus carriage plus UK VAT
- looks as if you need a Capristo control module to control the valved system & I can't see that being cheap

Sounds good though?

I am just looking for something a little different and I really love the way they have shaped it to fit the bodywork. I reckon I will get Christmas out of the way and will hopefully have it all fitted for late summer when I get back from being away with work.

Yup, only for the very rich or very crazy. I love the idea of the control module though: I'd be a very happy boy if it ranged from OEM to WW2 Spitfire.

Until I find a spare 10k under my sofa I'll continue to use the OEM exhaust - mainly because of neighbours. I often work 'on call' and fire up the beast at ungodly hours. It wouldn't take long for a lynch mob to gather

That's why I am trying to find someone with it fitted so I can hear how loud it is before I put the money together.

Would it not work out cheaper and more fun to drive over there and get them to fit it rather than paying the delivery and all the uk tax or duty?

+1. Clever. You'll have to figure out how to get your OEM exhaust home.

Made an enquiry to a stockist in the UK to begin with, hope to have an answer back from them tomorrow. There's no rush so unless it's right for me I wont do it. Taking things nice and slow to get the car just right. Wheels first, then interior before performance modifications.

Managed to find a much better clip of the exhaust with a real feel for the sound it puts out.

This makes me think that extra money is worth it!

You can't buy it tax free..

Exportpreis=taxfree

If purchased in Germany there's 19% MwST to take into consideration......
then there's the ferry, the fuel, the time off work + getting the OEM exhaust back - a non-starter in my book.

Very very expensive for what it is?

Time to start saving, the fitted look of the pipes is sweet.

Yes I have to agree it really does look nice with the fitted ends. Found out the American company who got me my wheels stocks the RS4 Capristo so I reckon it will be them if anybody who I buy it through. The second video is pretty epic!

Awesome exhausts and very well built (they should be for that price).
Nudenut's got one on his R8 with the programmer thingy.... if that helps ?

Again, sounds great.
