Help Needed With Paint Code
Help Needed With Paint Code
Hi,
I'm getting my wheels refurbed within the next couple of weeks and I was wondering whether someone could confirm that the code for the silver paint on the OEM wheels is L1H7.
I've searched the forum, but I've not been able to find anything conclusive.
Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for this. Just to clarify though, is this the same as "Ultra Silver" -as I thought that was the one to look for ?

Is that the same as Hyper Silver? Pmsl

Are you being mischievous, Sonny?sonny wrote:Is that the same as Hyper Silver?

The names that were coming up when I was searching the forums last night were Le Mans silver, Oxygen Silver and Avus Silver, but Le Mans was getting the nod for giving the OEM finish. Confusingly I saw some posts suggesting that Oxygen Silver and Le Mans Silver share the same paint code.54Kab wrote: is this the same as "Ultra Silver" -as I thought that was the one to look for ?
It shouldn't be this difficult to sort out a paint colour should it?

. . actually, maybe 'Hyper' was what I was told ?!?

I think its pretty obvious when the wrong / any old silver has been used...

Re: Help Needed With Paint Code
I was pointed at a different paint code by Pristine Alloys. Avus Silver.
The Audi body panel colour code is LY7J.
Alloy wheels use a different colour, still named Avus Silver but paint code Z17.
Being wary I had one wheel completed to see the match against the originals first, buyer beware etc...
The match was perfect, so was happy to have the others refurbed.
The Audi part number for the OEM aerosol LLSOM6Z17.

Thanks, mark758.
I did some further searching, which threw this up...
http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/audi_a ... wheel_2835
which states that the wheels are "Audi Silver".
And from this other page on their website...
http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/inform ... l_finishes
Audi Silver is code 1H7.
That said, I suspect that there's not a massive amount of difference between the Avus wheel paint and the Le Mans Silver.
