Pretty well made and no obvious flaws - just working out cable routing.
Iphone sits in it fine and is stable - time will tell though if it can keep hold of it when having a bit of "fun". ;)

Have tested the connection and it works perfectly - just plugs into the iphone cradle socket and voila. Power and signal boost.
So in principle a dead easy fit - just need to work out how the cradle fits in and how to access everything. Rather not pull the RNS-E out if I can get away with it!
Did you manage to install it?

Does this dock replace the cradle or does it connect to the Aux In? Can you do a write up about the installation and function of the dock?

That's a lot of wires just for power! Any idea what the others do? Are they for different voltage outputs for different phones maybe?

This (and the part number for the console) is going to be very useful. :beerchug:

edit: ahh... that's not your car's console in the pic.

Not installed yet - to wet to do anything with the cars (and been uncharacteristically busy).
However the new dock is effectively an ipod extension cable. Anywhere your iphone/ipod connects then this will connect also.
Note: It's purely for the phone so don't go thinking you'll be able to play music and the like. You still need the cradle and adapter (but you are free to hide it whereever) and this dock connects to that.
Apart from that it's dead easy - it just replaces the ashtray.

I'm slightly confused, does this dock connects to the plugs where the cradle connects, in effect replacing the cradle and not an ipod extension cable for the ipod interface.

It's exactly what I said - the dock is just an iPod extension cable.

One end is a male iPod/iPhone connected like any other dock and the cable has a female iPod connector just like any iPod device (bar iPhone 5)

You either need to plug it into the cradle like the photo which means you can hide the cradle anywhere behind the dash OR plug into an existing iPod adapter located in the glovebox

I just read today that the iPhone 5 needs different connectors and docking adapters to previous iPhones - surely that's not a good move by Apple?

Not really apples fault entirely...
Eu bringing in rules to standardise chargers.
Also the old one is massive taking up valuable space away from other components.
But charging 25 qud for an adapter is taking the piss

What was the fix I have just fitted mk2 RNSE and getting no response from controller 56 & 37 so can't code it. Any ideas on how I can fix. Vagcom test shows k1, k2 and can ok.

Why don't you trying connecting your old head unit, change the values in VCDS as needed, then re-connect the new one?

Tried that but didn't work. I have disconnected and disposed off the original tv tuner to upgrade to digital maybe the tv tuner module not being present is causing this issue? I'll have to wait until new one arrives and plug it in.

Also whats the correct coding for rnse when I check fault codes on navigation it says incorrectly coded module. I have CD changer, tv tuner.
