Hi,

My Rs4 esp light came on the other day, and ran VDS on and got fault code:

00493 ESP Sensor Unit (G419)
008- implausible signal
freeze frame : fault status 01101000
fault priority 2
rest counter 40
time indication 0

hex valuve 0x0000
hex value 0x4222
hex value 0x001b
hex value 0xD0A7
hex value 0x2001

Any idea what is faulty and what parts needed to fix it.

Dave

Also - have you disconnected the battery lately?

No I haven't had the battery disconnected, just wondering anyone know the part number for the RS4 and is it easy to get to it to replace.

whoa - steady on... not quite done yet :)
Need to run the diagnostics as it's three things it could be. The first to try would be to get the wheel sensor recalibrated just to see if thats the problem.
If so then that won't need any parts.

If the g419 sensor is where I think it is then it's behind the ashtray on the front centre console.
Steering wheel sensor is on the steering column.

Cheers ads green, how to do the wheel sensor recalibrated, as I accidentally started the esp calibration now and i can't get the ABS light off resulting another fault code.

Ok.. Step away from the vag-com... ;)

Try this - has both steering wheel and ESP procedure

However worth double checking before any more setting are done - I've not done this personally
