If you have to hold the button then clutch switch a cheap easy first check.

If there is a clicking noise then this is likely to be the starter solenoid clicking through insufficient power. Check earth mounting points and engine earth strap and worth getting the battery checked out as it could be on its way out.

you dont have to hold the button down but sometimes it takes longer to start when its cold like 5 seconds before it starts like its delayed then its instant just push the button and it fires in to life when once its started . monday it did nothing till after about 6 attempts on pushing the button .

Cold cranking problem would look like a battery issue.
Any mot type place should be able to run a tester on it.

Battery voltage doesn't tell you much about how much capacity is there.
A battery can show a healthy 12v with virtually no amp hours left.

If you are stuck then worth buying a jump start kit - 20odd quid from Halfords.
Then on the next cold start connect to the jump points in the engine bay and try to start.
It'll use both batteries so if there is an underlying battery problem it should go away using the jump kit.
