LOBA RS4 B7 Bake disc upgrade Preproduction test discs

Post by supersi » Tue Feb 07, 2012 10:17 am

LOBA RS4 B7 Bake disc upgrade....Coming soon

A few key points on LOBA MOTORSPORT  B7 Brake upgrade

Bolt On Replacement no other modifications to carry out (PLUG&PLAY)

The assembly uses " Float in the Bell" Technology

float is limited to 0.2mm compared to 0.5-0.7mm float in float in the disc systems such as Alcon or less capable AP racing setup

Custom rate developed bobbin springs allow design axial and radial float whilst maintaining OEM levels of NVH

xial flow of air from behind the bearing to the centre of the disc via 48 vanes and a 17mm air gap

Optionally available with temperature sensing paint applied set to 430/560/610 degrees

Disc Rotor is by AP Racing and is cast in the UK

significant weight saving per corner

Range of pads available which we spec to your needs

Design requirements was nominally 10-12 track laps at competitive driver speeds, surpassed in initial testing by professional drivers

All components from rotors to washers are available separately through LOBA,  this is truly a disc assembly for life, whole life cost is lower than OEM especially for tracked vehicles

As already mentioned over on SRS these do look the bomb and will be keeping an eye on development.

OOOoooooo, me likely. Will you be doing rears as well as fronts? And do you have indicative prices? One last question, you say significant weight savings, what is 'significant'?

very keen to know more.....

Heat management by Design allows us to use thinner disc so there for less mass saving estimated 3.5-4kg weight per corner, Rotor size is 362mm it eliminates the lip that is created with 365mm OEM disc, thickness is 32mm instead of 34mm

Disc Bell CNC machined by a supplier to race teams at the pinnacle of Motorsport

Disc Rotor is by AP Racing

have been and looking at upgraded rears as i too want myself, but is very limited because of caliper and OEM being very thin and not vented

price yet to be confirmed

It'll be 7-8 kgs since theye are only talking about fronts but still not to be sniffed at! :beerchug:

Part of that though surely is increased central vanes and being a 32mm width disc rather than 34mm so less steel involved and it would be interesting to find out what the thickness of the disc surfaces are and what minimum tolerance is (30mm?) to have a guestimate at durability. But if they are what they say they are and around £500-600 per pair then they are definitely on the shopping list with the better cross drilled pattern.

not long for at all for launch within this month, bobbin and bell system is tested and proven fantastic by friends and pro drivers and are being used now and have been for some time .. just want to try test a set on my car to be 100% on pad spec and feel and so on, price we have a idea just waiting on final costs to give a RRP and demand will help us get prices lower.

Si, I won't be tracking mine so will it be OK to use EBC YS's on these discs for road use?
