people will say kw here, just like they say miltek everytime you ask about exhausts,

theres loads of posts about it as ive looked, but mainly for the B5 boys, not many suspension upgrades done by the B7 boys yet, so maybe worth asking on SRS i have also read about stasis which seem to go down well in the states and AST which im trying to get a group buy together, but because 1000 people dont say theyre good no one will take the plunge, + theyre a fraction of the cost

PSS9 in stock

You won't go wrong with either.

But I feel the PSS9 is mh easier to adjust and tailor. I think these are fine for road use and occasional track day. If your doing a lot of track time then maybe consider the KWs.

Bilstein have been around for donkeys years and know what they're doing. As mentioned highly rated with the B5 boys.

I run ohlins (stassis) on the b5 haven't had a lot of time in the car but they feel superb. Can't fault the kw's on my b7 they are good although they can be harsh.

C5 guys seem to rate Bilstein as the best and they do OEM shocks for BMW too.

KW v 3 or Bilstein B16 pss9

Durability should be what your after on a fast road car, hence why a lot of ppl go for the KWs,iirc KW also make the oem shock for the RS4 (not the valves). They are a pita to adjust as you have to get on your belt buckle and have thin arms and the flexibility of a gymnast to change.

Alot have changed on b5 because it was utter tosh in standard form, not so many have done it with the b7 because imo its a bloody good compromise and takes some beating as an everyday car! I put mine on the track and some serious lean and movement under breaking in the pics but i have to enjoy it for the other 99.9% of my time driving on very testing a roads.Have you tried arbs first to retain the ride quality or are you after a lower stance?

If I had the money it would be Ohlins Stasis but they are a good deal more expensive than either Bilstein or KW, not that either of the latter can be seen as budget. It depends on what you want from the set up, track use and slight compromise on road use with good stance and vakue would be KW; better road manners and decent value for money Bilstein and best of all world but pay the price for it, Ohlins.

When the time comes I'll be going for KW's. Have had 3 sets of them.

B5 S4 KW V1's -19's -miltek - Brakes - MRC remap - etc, great day to day drive and really impressed me round the ring, especially for being only the V1's

Mk4 R32 KW V1's - fairly std. Same again, decent drive, and great on the twisties

Golf Rallye KW V3's - too many mods to list. As above.

9 years on I’ll pose the same question...are we any closer to a more definitive conclusion.

I've had the KWv3 on my RS4 cab which unfortunately was stolen in Bulgaria. Now I have another rs4 cab and have the bilstein B16 set up and I wish now I had stuck with the KWv3 the bilstein is noticeably harsher than kW and the handling is not as good.. KWv3 all the way 👌

Shockerboy Koni is what I went for in the end. Think he trades as CRS Performance. Google them and give them a call. Chap is very knowledgeable.

Cheaper than the coilovers. Full OEM look. No faff and ride spot on.
