Has anyone carried a bicycle in their RS4 (i.e. inside the car)? I've got an Avant and am looking to buy a mountain bike and was wondering if it's easy to put the bike in the rear with the rear seats folded down.

MTB in the saloon - easy. Just put the bike in a big sheet before going in th a car. Oh and take a front wheel off

I could get mine in (just) with the wheels still attached. Didn't fancy doing it after a muddy ride (whether wheels were attached or not) so ended putting it on a roof rack.

This is what you need....

If you want it to go inside it will fit easily with the wheels off. Had 4 bikes plus kit in mine :beerchug:

Adult road bike fits easily in a sedan... front wheel off, seats down, and rear wheel in first, handle bars last...

I fit two MTBs into the back of my sedan on a regular basis - just take of the front wheels.

If you have hydraulic brakes, make sure you get a spacer to put between the brake pads while the wheel is off.

also get a blanket to cover the boot sill so your pedals dont scratch anything on the way in/out

One of the reasons I bought an Avant! My Bianchi Camaleonte fits inside wheels attached, whereas my Kona Dew hybrid with its taller wider handlebars needs front wheel removing.
