Brake Pads - Opinions

Its nearing time to change front pads, whats the general opinion on a decent set for normal road driving (ie not track)

I've seen Pagid's at £75

Yellow Stuff at £160

Mintex at £66

Genuine Audi (Pagid) at £240

There is loads of meat left on the discs but there is a slight lip so plan was to skim the lip off the current discs and re-use with new pads...

Stick with Pagids, EBC yellow stuff are fine, less brake dust they do retain the brake sensor wear function.

Audi have a newer Brake pad that stops the rivets from gauging into the disc.

EBC's do have wear sensors sonny, it is the Ferrodo's that don't. :beerchug:

I still use ebc yellow stuff on the rears. Agree there ok for road use, but on track they will really only last 2 sessions. I managed 4 out of mine before they finally gave up.

Yellowstuff are fine for road use, which is probably where the vast majority of RS4's reside. They produce so much less brake dust too.

I changed all pads and discs last month and in a attempt to keep costs down, i went back to Pagid, regret that now :(

Why do you regret going back to Pagid? Is it just because of the dust?

Are the aftermarket Pagid pads just the same as the OEM Pagid pads - theres a good £150 odd quid difference.....

Yeah, nothing dramatic, it's just that me wheels get dusted up no sooner than they've been washed!

I had ds2500s on my subaru and found them really good. So put them on th rs aswell and they are mega , miles better than oem pads i had fitted previously infact I thought the brakes were pretty poor as standard. Brake dust isnt bad either.
