New Buyer Conerns

Post by twotoots&yeroot » Thu Oct 13, 2011 9:01 pm

Hi folks, i've placed a deposit on an 06 RS4 with 26k on clock, was due to pick it up last weekend, however the dealer (Audi) called me last minute to say that the car wasn't ready as they had discovered that a new clutch and 3rd gear syncro was required, can anyone tell me if this is a common problem as it seems unusual at such loes? also it has ceramic brakes which i have been told (by the Audi salesman) are much better than standard steel brakes, however i understand these could cost 6k to replace which worries me...

Any info greatly appreciated

Cheers

Not heard of such clutch gearbox issues but thats not to say it can't happen. As for the ceramics, may sure they have had the campaign recall IIRC there was an issue with them and ceramic onwers were getting them replaced FOC if the issue was seen on their car. Once done the discs shouldn't need replaced in your lifetime, just pads.

But if you are that concerned I'll swap you for my steel set up, discs pads and calipers. :bigblink:

I was just about to say "Heh P_G don't sweat it.... DK will come along any minute and strike a deal through the back door" Next thing we know they'll be another DK motor on the Front Lot with all the bells and whistles..... and we won't get a whiff of a deal

See what they are like first twotoots, we are only pulling your leg; well kind of. But if you don't like them after trying them lets talk. Where abouts in the land of the free are you?

I abode 50 miles north of Inverness, due to get the Car now on Wednesday providing the clutch & Gbox issues are resolved.

Looking forward to it, i havnt seen the car yet (other than pictures) or driven one but i believe it'll be worth the wait, fingers crossed..
