RS4 or RS6

Post by Carbon » Mon Sep 19, 2011 3:04 pm

Ok million $ question.
B7 RS4 for the handling lighter weight and approx £10k saving, or the better equipment, more room and brute force of the C6 RS6

To avoid biased opinion, I am posting the same on both Forums.

For me RS4 as the C6 is too big for my needs.

Won't be long, never driven a C6 will be interested to see how they compare when you get yours.

Depends on how/where you drive it.

Not driven a C6 but not keen on the look of them. Not mean/aggressive enough to look at for me.

The RS6 is an awsome car but whilst the RS4 has less power the weight and size difference really shows.
I found it much easier to be rapid down country roads in the RS4 than the RS6.

However if you're living on the motorway the RS6 makes for a rapid comfortable drive.

I'd try both and see what you think.

To me power doesn't always equate to more fun.
I prefer to consider the whole package - straight line performance just isn't the be all and end all otherwise I'd ride a superbike.

Saw a black 58 plate C6 RS6 at Meridian in Lyndhurst on Sunday (they're asking £45k), from a distance you couldn't read whether the grille badge was RS4 or RS6 and both me & the wife thought it was an RS4.

The "family look" is nice, but I think I'd be happier if the RS6 looked more "special".

once your familiar with the C6 looks, you do really notice how different it is from a standard A6

it really is fatter and meaner .... just in a more subtle way

I miss the handling, noise and looks of my RS4.
I miss the subtlety, effortlessness and stupid amount of power of my RS6.

Same here, before I succumb to a diesel an RS6 needs to be done ! Wouldn't have considered one when I bought the RS4 (too big & lardy), especially when moving from an R32, but having had a larger car keep browsing them (also saw the one at Meridian)...
