Hi All
Just a quick note that we've added some more updates on our project RS4 page...
Still loving the car and the story of our ownership is now at an interesting stage and some of the images might give you a bit of a fright!
Hope you enjoy them:

Bloody hell Glenn! Well glad to see Audi sorted it for you. Are you still taking it to the Ring?
BTW the car looks great on the new springs. Just one question, as the suspension is the same height all round will you still need to maintain a higher gap at the front to absorb front end compression due to the engine being forward of the front axle or will it not matter?

defo still going the @Ring...thats what is was built for!!
I think the front now being lowered by 20mm wont make that much difference TBH...lets see if I lose my splitter round the Caracciola curve

I can see why your engine needed replaced, those heads look far worse than mine did. Glad it is all sorted now.

Did you only fit the springs to the front? Like you said - perfect stance!

Glenn, did Audi agree that the scoring was as a result of carbon entering the bores? Curious as my engine ended the same way. It was replaced by Audi (both heads and short motor) but while many agree it was carbon (mechanics that looked at it) the official word from Audi was "wrong oil"; but not the case as far as I was concerned, it was always Castrol Pro LL3.
Cheers, Mal.

Hi Ollie
yes just front pair, may end up with a bit more oversteer on the limit (which i can live with) but feel the stance looks spot on now...

Hi MAl
They said wernt too worried about the scoring (until I spotted it) but the result i was getting was excessive blue smoke through exhaust at full throttle which is oil in the fuel as far as i'm concerned.....guess it was coming up and into the combustion chamber.
Offered to get the oil analysed by the chemists at Millers Oils.....

but they were dead straight and put it through as a warranty claim as it wasnt pulling that strong and seemed down on power.
I planned to have it rolling roaded the week before it went in to see how much difference it made but due to time and the fact it could have went bang on the rollers i didnt bother.
Arthur
Love your "hot rodding" spirit comment...and its defo alive and well in the revolution camp.
I'm not as technical as some on this forum (i leave that to little Glen my workshop manager) but maybe the photos I'm taking and uploading are more lamens terms than techy overload.
