Help
Just went to check the tyre pressures on my RS4 and the valve has corroded/sheared off I managed to get the cap on enough to stop the air but dont want to use the car as it is. are these Audi parts or stock tyre fitter bits I will have to go to a tyre place to have them fitted I guess but do I need to buy from Audi first
Cheers

The valve is £12 from Audi or TPS. Had to be an RS4 specific valve as it is part of the TPMS set up.

The valves are manufactured by Beru (43mm I think). You can also pick them up on e-Bay however I found Audi to be cheaper than the e-Bay price plus there's the added bonus of knowing that the parts will be correct.

That shouldn't happen with the plastic valve caps. Metal on metal is a different story though and requires an ample dose of petroleum jelly to stop corrosion.

Unfortunately Phil it does. Cleaning agents and just general salt / crap corrode these as well as using the car's own tyre inflator, they are surprisingly soft. I always have plastic caps on mine and still probably replace them every second set of new tyres.
