Updates on my RS,project low

Post by Jules » Fri Jul 22, 2011 2:16 pm

Well i picked the car up sunday.
Drove it home in the pouring rain,so not as enjoyable as i hoped. All seemed well though.
First night, removed the mats and hoovered, gave it a good wash down internally, then used meguires interior cleaner, warm soapy water on the
leather and treated that.
Nice new cherry air freshener lol.
2nd day, remove front tints as illegal, never again, what a nightmare, but atleast you can see inside it now.

I've still hardly used it but its getting better, then last night swapped rear wheels to the front as they were illegal, aqnd cleaned them up.
Fitted rear spacers and 2 wheels mutantfatcat lent me while i get mine fitted with new tyres.
Ordered a new battery cover as that was broken  all else i can see is new rear pads required soon, any recommendations.

I also took it out for a little drive last night, and i actually really enjoy driving it,i'm sure point to point would be close with my b5,defo more fun on the bends.

Weather permitting clay and wash tomorrow and remove rear audi rings, then i may post some pics up.
Also done loads of research and the modding is getting close to starting,i cant wait, its sits so high with no ss

Nice one.

You are right about not having SS+ its the one option I wish mine had as they do sit high without it. Definitely put some pics up as you go!

The spacers helped a little, with not looking quite as high,Why dont you get some H+R springs.

I'm having to put up with the height for a month, then its going LOW :bigblink: And thats when i get crucified on here

I doubt you will get crucified on here, everyone is a tolerant, interested bunch from what I have found. They even allow Australians to join..... :biggrin2:

Everyone does seem very friendly and helpful, but some are not over keen when people make big changes to these cars, but thats
cool with me.

But allowing Australians to join is surely a step to far

nice 1 Jules

yes there are still some £30k buyers here who do not approve of modifications

but there are still some people who love to see something different and original, and im sure more and more to come as they get cheaper

Thanks guys

Well im sure a few off you know the car, very straight and no paint, mileage was more than i was hoping, but its left me with more modding money  .
Its been clayed and every panel gone over to remove all tar and any light scratches.
I,ve started to clean under the engine bay,and ordered a new header tank.
Ive removed the rear rings and also fitted new led rear lights.
The first big mod is happening in 4 weeks and i'm trying to source a milltek.
Then after that the retrim.

This is the only crappy phone pic i have, before the lights were fitted
