National Gathering- Final updates

Just checked the forecast (for what that's worth) on a couple of websites and it looks okay for Sunday.

Both EVO magazine and Audi Driver expressed interest in the event but neither will be in attendance. Both mags have said they will run features and have asked us to supply good quality pictures and some accompanying words so lets all present our motors as best we can for this photoshoot.

As an incentive to everyone to make their car as smart as possible for the day, there will be a prize for the best turned out Saloon/Cab and also a prize for the best Avant. This is meant to be just a bit of fun and not taken too seriously so don't be too critical with your 'judging'. There will also be another prize for your favourite car, not neccessarily a modded car, the one you'd most like to take away!(might even be your own!) Everyone will be given a voting slip when registering their attendance, and as an incentive to return them you will automatically be entered into a lucky draw for another prize(donated by me!)

On registration everyone will also be given an RS246 'ID' badge. The badges will have your forum name already on it and a space left for you to write in your real name (if you want), that way we're not going to go around all day calling each other by our sometimes daft forum names as well as making it easier to remember each other.
A big thanks to LMA07 (Laura) for taking the time to take this on and do all the sourcing and printing of the badges and thanks to Caldy for sourcing and sorting the venue and the food.

Also a very big thanks goes to both Glenn at Revolution Motorstore and to Doug at MRC Tuning for their very generous donation of the prizes.

Rough timescales, I'm intending to be there for about 1100 to get organised /acquainted etc so give me a chance to get settled in and come along anytime after 1130.

Grub is around 1330-1400 and we have to 'move on' by 1600 as there something else happening at the venue after us.

Looking forward greatly to seeing you all on the day.

Drive carefully!

Iain

Well done Iain, we know the effort required to get something like this organised. Seems like you and the team have gone above and beyond on this one. Nice to see Glenn and Doug chipping in.

I'm still planning to be there if things work out OK, but will sort out directly with the venue to avoid hassling you :)

A huge effort and thank you to all concerned, organising things like this are often a thankless task, not in this case.

Lets hope this is the first of many.

Looking forward to putting faces to names.

Have a safe trip to all.

Ditto re the above comments - a massive thanks to Iain for starting the ball rolling with all of this and for sticking with it. Thanks also to the others who have helped with timings, food, getting the mags involved, making badges & anything else that's been organised!

Looking forward to my first ever convoy & meet….. :D

See you all on Sunday….

Cheers,

Si

Well done Iain,
Do you have a creche facility also for two days?

Gutted, wife doesn't get home till Sunday evening now so I can't attend. If anyone hasn't booked a room and wants one let me know and they can have mine (reserved but not paid for).

Have a great time guys and get loads of pics.

Drive safely.

I am new to the forum, and have been reading with interest about the National Gathering? As I live in Lancashire, it would seem to be an ideal venue to come along to and share what is looking like a great day! I know it's last minute, but if I could be added to the list of attendees? If, due to the numbers, an extra meal is a problem at this late stage, then I don't mind bringing a butty box!
Incidentally, I have owned various Audi models over the years - my previous being an 07 '07 S4 saloon, and my current Audi is a 07 '57 RS4 Avant.
Looking forward to Sunday...!
