Massive thanks to CraigyB for fitting my Kufatec / Alpine KCE-425i today, few niggles and I even had missing wires but he sorted it all out and got it working perfectly, many thanks and highly recommended.

Strange screen though and I wondered if anybody knew the answer, the box was 100% Alpine but the screen shows as 'NAV TV', seems similar but I expected Alpine branding on it? (picture attached)

Also does anybody have instructions available for the buttons to use from the Audi headunit, I'm struggling to navigate through the menu's.

Hi there, where did u purchase ur alpine unit and who and where is CraigB cheers?

Bought it direct from Kufatec but be careful, I bought individual parts and ended up missing some wires, they sell it as a kit so I'd go for that.

I must say it's a bit 'clunky' and the menu navigation isn't as slick as a Dension 500 I had fitted to my BMW M5, but it works, gives you full control to the iPod and lets you play videos while on the move so I'm happy enough with it.

CraigyB fitted it all, he's based near Manchester and is very competent

Found out that the 'NAV TV' firmware is used on the Alpine unit as this supports the iPhone, the Alpine firmware doesn't.

Hi Darren, that is what I suspected when you emailed me. Previous alpine firmware units were not capable of working with later model Ipods/Iphones. I wonder if there is an update procedure for existing owners with Alpine firmware.

Not sure but I've just tested mine and it works perfectly with the 32GB iPhone 3GS

I received two more units today and installed one, it was Alpine firmware and worked with an Iphone 4 ok. Software version 2.1.3
