New Shocks fitted
New Shocks fitted
Hi all had my 2 front shocks replaced by Halesowen Audi last week..All under goodwill warranty!
The only concern i have now is my car seems to sit higher at the front, i can get 3 fingers in between the arch and tyre..maybe they put too much pressure in or maybe it will setlle down, but im sure it was lower before..
Can anyone do me a kind favour and measure the distance between the front wheel arch and tyre please?
many thanks

Re: New Shocks fitted
How did you manage to get that under warranty?, thats very nice of them
- were there obvious problems when driving ?

Re: New Shocks fitted
Its a goodwill warranty for which if your car has full audi history they will replace if within 5yrs/75k miles..well known DRC issue..
Mine was picked up during a brake fluid change as i asked them to look at it for me

To give you a more accurate measurement i've just checked mine from the bottom of the arch to the top of the alloy wheel rim. It measures 110mm - N/S and 105mm - O/S (its on a tiny slope)
It had the two front shocks changed by Camberley in Jan so should be pretty much accurate. Also, its on standard suspension (not ss+).
From what I can remember I also thought it was a bit higher at the front after the work had been done.

Re: New Shocks fitted
sorry - new to ownership
DRC...?

DRC...?
Re: New Shocks fitted
There is loads of info on here about it.
DRC stands for dynamic ride contol. Its Audi's posh name for its suspension system. Alot of RS4 shock adsorbers have leaked oil so have required replacement.

I believe that replacement DRC are still done a goodwill gesture by Audi, wasn't there a recall for them???RS4pete wrote:There is loads of info on here about it.

No recall, but a 5yr/75k mile goodwill warranty. Usually (but not always) you need to have FASH but quite a few dealers claim to know nothing about the goodwill warranty so don't be fobbed off.

Re: New Shocks fitted
mine are being done next week - all four plus seat bolsters that deflate, exhaust flaps that don't work properly (shouldn't they open at idle with S mode on???), peeling paint on front bumper (not wing mirror that is peel though!!!) - mine is a 56 plate but I have a full component used car warranty until March next year!Steve_C wrote:No recall, but a 5yr/75k mile goodwill warranty.
