Mine is a saloon. I had a mk4 R32 and a mk5 R32 both with res millteks and I think the non res on the R32s was too loud. Don't want to but a non res with no valves and then be too loud.

got a non-res no valves on my saloon, sounds great....although cold starts can be too loud! Depends if you like to have a loud exhaust all the time, especially if you do alot of motorway miles can be a bit intrusive at times. But overall i still love the exhaust.....end of the day its dwn to personal opinion

Ive got the non valved, non res fitted and I really like that I haven't got to press a button to make it sound better, it makes it just a bit more hardcore

. Ive also never noticed the difference in throttle response between 'S' and 'non S' modes so i never bother to press it now. If I had the inflating buckets then that may be a bit different story however.
It really depends on your situation. I don't do motorway miles and 99% of the time its only me in the car so the noise isn't a problem. However im running SW0900 and it is REALLY loud on start up.
If you're sitting between 1.5k - 2k rev's for any length of time or need to regularly have other non petrol heads in the car then id say its best to get the valved system,

I have a non valved non-res. I drive every day to work a 9 mile journey, half normal roads, half motorway. only time the 1500-2000rpm drone can be annoying is early monday morning when u just want a quiet drive to work! But easy to acclerate thru gears keepin above 2100rpm or use the torque and keep below 1500rpm when driving 30-40mph. then above 55mph on motorway u r at 2100rpm + so is not intrusive again and is just as good a mway cruiser as the oem zorst. The cold start sounds awesome when u first drive off - ppl look round to c whats coming - even if you're plodding along!

i have a non res with valves and i press the sport button as soon as i pull of the drive what does that tell ya, if your going to replace your zorst course u want it loud that's the whole point, valves is a gimmick but a nice one

I want mine louder too. Hence I am now booked in to MRC a week monday for pre-cats to be gutted, cold air feed and remap. Can't wait to hear the increased exhaust gases singing out the back on the Milly!
