SW0090 Update

Dear All,
Can anyone describe the differences between 0080 and 0090 - just had the 0090 upgrade. Apart from running at 1600RPM on start up for 30 secs odd + 7000RPM limit removed at 54 degrees rather than 60 - any other changes?
I had a series of fault codes logged, reset, came back + upgraded to 0090 and has been fine since - can't see how this software update would resolve the faults?
Any thoughts much appecaited - thx

SW0090 was introduced to cure smokey start up (white smoke on start up), rough idle and kangarooing in traffic. It is annoying the cold start up esp if you have a Milltek system.
I never noticed the 54c limit removed.

Thanks Sonny - agree re. the cold start. I didn't have any of the symptoms which typically are cured by the 0090 software but Audi UK advised garage to do this as the fault finding diagnostics came up with a blank on the fault codes.
So - I'm waiting on the car going into limp home mode again, log the same faults and see what next course of action is.

I've got 0090, and the 7000rpm limit doesn't get removed until 60 Celsius.

The lowest temp I ever seen on DIS after the 7k limit goes is about 69/70? Defintely never as low as 60.

I've seen 61 Celsius regularly ... with both SW 0080 and 0090.

So should I be worried that I never see anything below 69? BTW, I am on long life servicing and have an MRC remap.

I wouldn't be worried - 60 is still really a bit low to start giving the car the full beans.
70 is getting there but 80 is a better bet.

Yes, DIS will say 7k when infact its mapped for 5k.

SW0080 - 7000RPM limiter until oil reached 60 degrees; since SW0090 loaded - 7000 RPM limiter removed when temp reaches 54 degrees (honest!)
Car is stock
Can I therefore assume some something else has been changed/updated as part of this software "upgrade"?

i think the latest revs are for deposit control
it seems they are 'soot' that gets coked/baked on (it looks like soot doesn't it? fluffy)
I've (and others) have noticed an increase in oil temp, but that is a consequence of other changes, there is no way to adjust the cooler thermostat (it's mechanical) the engine is actually running hotter, in my opinion to combustion process changes...imo leaner burn for more complete combustion and therefor less soot...
how they do this, who knows: less fuel, different timing, different injection point in the cycle, cam timing, etc.
but all mfgs agree the deposits can be controlled by these parameters, and no mechanical method will do it (filters, by-pass cyclones, coatings, etc.)...the good news is all these variables are adjustable thru ecu software
it also injects less fuel at start-up, less smoke, leaner...the previous check lights were from start-up misfires from too rich a mixture and fuel condensing on the cyclinder walls...
I'd like to see a cleaned cars deposit amount before and after for the sw rev for a given mileage

Since I had SW0090 fitted the oil temp is about 3-5 Celsius hotter under the same conditions.
The louder and more aggressive exhaust note, and the better mpg I'm seeing both fit with the combustion process changes.
