Scuffmaster kit on Bucket Seat Bolster

Post by lugars4 » Sat Jun 04, 2011 6:19 pm

I have a scuff on my seat boltster, looks like its from a rivet on jeans or something and it has left a 3 inch long scuff.

I have been using gliptone liquid leather for years and its a great product, a quick wipe with the conditioner and the scuff is almost invisible, but after a day or so the effect wears off and its back.

I am looking to get the scuff master kit from them. http://www.liquidleather.com/scuffs.htm

Has anyone else tried this kit?

I cant see our car on the colour bank page: http://www.liquidleather.com/auto%20colour%20bank.htm
So i may need to send them a small sample of the leather.

Appreciate any input.

Used the scuffmaster kit on my old Range rover with Charcoal leather which had wear marks on the bolster and also the armrest.

Despite not believing pics shown on the website i was surprised at just how well it came up. No more noticeable marks !

I'd defo use it again, well impressed tbh!

If you look at the second page of the Audi list... they have "RS 4 ? Black" listed. Not sure what the "?" means though.

I'd be interested to try this product myself.

I would also look at the repair cost from a leather trimmer - a good one will leave the seat looking unmarked and 'un-repaired' :)
Can recommend one if need be.

I emailed the company via the website - they responded swiftly and advised they had got the colour for an earlier RS6 and 2007 A3. They kindly offered to mix up a colour to match...if I was willing to send a headrest. Shame as I cant see me doing that. Maybe someone else will :-)

I may be willing too.

Are all our black bucket seat the same color?. Only when i bought mine from the dealer they fitted a new arm rest cover and its clearly not the same black.

On the car advert they posted at the time, they stated something live "Volcano black leather" from memory, i wonder if they got it wrong, hence the wrong armrest cover was ordered ??

Thats we be great! AFAIK there is Valocona leather and also silk nappa. I think the buckets are all silk nappa but hopefully someone will come along and set us straight....? :D Im looking forward to improving/freshening the look of my seat!

Has anyone bought any of this recently? I want to treat my bolster to some TLC.

I called them and they were as useful as tits on a bull. They asked me to send them a sample of my leather, how does one manage that without cutting off part of the seat?! :bash:

Pull the rear bench seat up - plenty of spare overlapping leather
