Oh dear I think my wife has bought the wrong car.

So there we are picking up my wife's 'new' car, an RS4 Cab, which I must say is stunning in Dark Blue.

However she said I should test drive it rather than her, which surprised me, so we pootled off around town. Then out of the blue (she says she was trying to make polite conversation), she says, is this a diesal.

If I wasn't sitting down I would have had to pick myself up from the floor.

I then realised that the last couple of months of discussions as to which model and car she should get/wanted had all been wasted!

It's 42 years old so only comes out in the summer or when needed. Ironically it has a 4.2ltr engine too but is substantially slower which my wife can't understand. I don't think she quite gets how fast the RS4 is.

Anyway she loves driving it other than wishing it was an automatic!

Reminds me of the time the ex-wife and i took out a new white Leon Cupra diesel with the K1 touring car kit when they were first released. We needed an economical daily due to her 100 mile commute. Drove it for an half an hour with her face like a slapped arse even saying it was pointless her having a drive before we returned to the showroom......... At which point she said "dont know why we are wasting our time, i need a diesel" :drink:

Funnily she suddenly REALLY liked the car when she was told otherwise ! :knob: Not at all embarrassing ! :bash:

At its low point this company manufacturered only 74 cars in a year in the 1980's and has only ever posted a profit once in over 80 years.

They now make over 5,000 cars a year in the UK, yet until 10 years ago had only made 20,000 in their entire history.
