RS5 Wheels

Post by rs4head » Thu May 26, 2011 10:33 pm

anyone thought about putting the new 20" RS5 wheels on B7 RS4? I think they would look nicely aggressive...

I thought of doing the same a few months back... would be very interested to see how the work against the B7, got a nice concave depth to them :D

Yes N11LS_J they are very dished and think the grey wheels with the silver rim will look good against the Daytona.

Doesn't the B8 hub use a different centre bore?

Had a look at these too but £2k for the rims and then add TPMS and tyres on top; it's a lot to look like a number of A3's and TT's that now have these 5 'Rotor' style wheel on the 9Jx19 5/112 ET33 variant. Granted the latter aren't as deep dish but for most there is little visual difference much like the C6 RS6 wheels.

If you have the money then fair play to you but for me I have better things to spend £2k on. May wait for second hand sets to come on fleabay.

The ones on the A5 black edition do have quite a good dish, much more than the A3 black edition

The new A6 has them as an option in 20in

As good as they will look, they are so far from exclusive RS wheels its untrue

I was also thinking of that as well, in fact the wife has ordered the C7 A6 with the 20' rotor option and I was thinking stealing them 8) and trying them on to see. Except for the pressure monitor that won't be in, do you think they will fit without spacers?
please post pics so we can see what it's going to be like :blackrs4:

If they are the 9Jx20 ET26 wheels they will, if they are the 9Jx19 ET33 you will need 5mm on each axle to bring them to the minimum. This is the problem with the 19's, I already run a 10mm spacer on each axle on the rear on the OEM ET29 wheel so it would have to be a bolt on 15mm spacer instead and probably a 10mm one ot the front and that is using 275 tyres as well. The only sensible option is the 9Jx20 ET 26 wheels but then I see Evo have taken the 20" options off and put 19's of their long term RS5 because of ride and balance issues; I fear the 20's would seriously affect ride comfort and dynamicism.

So that's £2k for the wheels, £80 per wheel for TMPS and valve (unless your are swapping your old ones in) plus tyres plus £200 for rear spacers and £80 for the fronts. Like said an expensiove option to obtain a different look. You are nearing a set of HRE Carbons for that!

they will be size: 20" Alloy - Style: 5 arm Rotor design (titanium) - Tyre Size: 255/35 R20 - Wheel Size: 8.5J x 20 as A6 per brochure

not sure if they will fit?

I would swope these with the original 18' RS alloy my car was fitted with when I purchased it. I only did 12,000 kms with them, then quickly upgraded with the 19' double spoke which I bought from Audi (with Pressure monitor) .
In fact I have a spare set of Pressure monitors currently fitted in the 18', I wonder if it's a big job to extract them and eventually install onto the 20'.. arf that sounds complicated all that.. beside, I haven't even sold the idea to missus yet...

check the centre bore is correct as A5 series have a larger one and therefore you may need spigot rings to come back down to 57.1mm

8.5Jx20 would need an even larger spacer because our wheels are 9J so theres half an inch differenc in the rims alone. Really need the ET number as well though.

As suggested, above A5 platform cars the center bore is 66mm.

I see, it seems a little bit complicated, I may abandon the idea so... thanks for the info,
but I still would love to see what's a RS4 like with these wheels on.
