Query re carbon clean, porting RS4 and remap.

Well I have booked my RS in at MRC (!) for a stage two as it is running a GruppeM intake and Milltek. I definitely eventually want the carbon cleaned and while I am at it I would have it ported to help bring up the power.
I am trying to decide whether to do it all at once or just start at the remap so I was wondering if anyone else has taken a staged approach to this and been either happy that they did or decided it was not a good idea.
I am also trying to spread the financial outlay but I could commit to it all in one hit but the main reason to get the remap done now was to get the MAF dialled in ASAP seeing as the GruppeM seems to be a fickle bit of kit.
No definitive answer is out there I am sure but your opinions would be welcomed!
Cheers

For me, I would get it done all in one go but that all depends on cost obviously...
Its simple for me...The more time its being worked on , the less time I would have to drive her!

Just out of interest, does anyone know the rough cost of the following at MRC?
- Cleaned / De-coked
- Ported
- Stage 2 Re-map
Also considering getting these done at some point in the near future and due to geographic location of MRC makes sense for me to get it all done in one hit..
Cheers

Ring MRC and have a chat about what your desires are and they will give you an idea straight away about what you will be looking at. They are really helpful over the phone.
Oh the stage 2 re-map is £650

I would get it all done in one hit Kiwi, at a later stage if you have the carbon cleaned you may have to upload a remap as the flow of air coming into the engine will be more (due to less CB on the valves). Are you de-vaning and porting the manifold as well while its off or just sticking with the valves being cleaned?

Porting and de-vaning from what I understand including the clean. I dont see much point in taking the manifold off and not doing the work. No point having it off twice!
My trend is to get it all done at once but I just keep thinking about the cash! I know I shouldnt.....

I would (and did) get it all done at once - it will give you the shock factor when you first drive in anger down some roads that you are used to driving.

Only got married last week and also with my first child in the post.... its all but a dream at the min!

Congrats on the Mrs and nipper on the way.
I would just get the Milltek done if cash a concern - it wont give extra power but the noise will keep you entertained for quite some time, it really is a great upgrade. Plus you can probably get one sorted in Ireland.
Get the other more specialised stuff done when cash allows but EUR/STG fx is pretty good at present and if we ever end up having to barter chickens as currency in Ireland, well....

I didn't power test it as I needed to catch a ferry home but, the following day when I hit some familiar backroads I had to stop after about 10mins as my legs had turned to jelly from sensory overload. I had the MRC stuff done after owning the car for 3 years so thought I knew it like the back of my hand.
I had 100cell cats fitted at the same time which certianly makes for a different noise experience even after a non-res cat back.

Cheers mate!
Agree, that the plan as of today

going to hunt one down now and have it fitted ASAP!
Any point on getting a sports filter also? Or just wait for the other main work at a later date.
