Going on a Black Avant with silver optics although the grill has been wrapped in black
This is what the car currently looks like

Really like the idea of a dark finish on the wheels of the car but im torn between a matt black finish or a gloss so what the hell...Can everyone post their thoughts/opinions and any pictures that will help me decide
Cheers

Gloss finish for me. Matt looks too much like the wheel is just dirty.

I wouldn't do black wheels matt or gloss, I think the OEM Titanium colour is ideal for a slight contrast. That's just me though.....

The Titanium OEM is Matt finish, however I thin you may get away with a eggshell/satin finish. Gloss would not look right in my opinion.
However, some have gone for the more darker shade, Anthracite. The looks better as a gloss finish. (but its not OEM).

I would like to do the same with my RS. Here's my problem. If you go black wheels on a black car then you need to go the whole hog. ie. all optics and windows black, otherwise it just doesn't match.
Equally with wheels my problem is not wanting them to just look dirty, but also, gloss black looks terrible on a black car if the tyres aren't glossed all the time.
I just don't think it will work on a black car but then that's my 2p...

Satin all the way for me
In between matt and gloss, you can't go wrong, and looks awesome IMO
Otherwise matt

The set I use as winter wheels are pretty much the same as the pic sonny posted, but mine is full black optics. I changed to summers recently and really miss the look of the Titanium, suits the car very well to my eye!
There are a couple more pics of mine on my Copenhagen thread.

Cheers, got lucky when I was driving about in Sweden and came across this disused garage!
Not the best pic ever for showing off the wheels, but you can see that even from the front they still look quite dark..
drbru your car looks good with the silver wheels and mirrors. If you do change to black just remember (as others have said) you won't really see the detail of the wheels anymore, they'll just be black! And you'll be probably be using tyreshine a couple of times a week too, otherwise off-black tyres with black wheels will look a bit tatty. Much easier with Titanium or similar.
It'll still be a good-looking car of course, either way.
