Found this earlier. Thought it might be of use for someone.

I can't make out if it has a FBSW.

The advert seems to have vanished.

Has anyone been in touch with the seller?

If so, please send me a PM.

Thanks

I'm now pretty sure that this is a scam.

If you've been told to deposit money into a bank account don't, there are 3 breakers operating from the postcode I was given, none of them know anything about an RS4.

"John's" phone now goes straight to his answerphone.

I e-mailed/phoned the guy to see if the interior was available. Seemed genuine although he only wanted 400 GBP for the whole interior so maybe it is/was dodgy! Last time i spoke to him apparently he had taken a deposit on it so I left it at that.

Although now i think about it, on the two different occasions I phoned It did sound like two different people, both attaining to be 'John'. You could well be right Dom.

Gumtree seems to be heaving with scammers because ads are free so use a pay as you go mobile and nobody can trace you.

I was selling some parts on Ebay and someone rang up and agreed to pay by paypal and collect.
Sure enough 20 mins later the money was in my account however the payers name was Oliver James and the guys collecting were Asian (in a C5 RS6)
I wasn't there and my colleague didn't sniff a rat so handed over the items.
Couple of days later Paypal snatch the money back as the Paypal payer hasn't received his goods.
Transpired he thought he was buying a mobile phone off a Gumtree seller.

How did the scammer get the right amount into my account? He told the buyer of the phone that his Paypal account couldn't accept £180 so he could have the phone for £158, amazing!

And yes I am still out of pocket as I didn't get a tracking number for the items as they weren't posted. I didn't realise how exposed I was by personal collections so put it down to experience - it's a small world and considering I am a keen RS spotter, the description I have of the people and the car will I am sure mean I cross their path soon.

Sorry to hear that, Neckarsulm....but an interesting tale for the rest of us. I will now only accept cash on collection.

The chaps name is Sandy John Chiedozie, his Barclays bank account sort code is from a branch in Leicester.

I suspect he makes his money by taking a deposit to secure what ever it is you're buying, if you insist on cash on collection he tells you the item is already sold.

It seems he's been busy on gumtree and pistonheads supposedly breaking a variety of cars, this is the same bloke trying it on with some E46 bits......

Another ad on gumtree, this one looks dodgy too-

http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-moto ... g/80848329

It says that the car has buckets and is in Preston, you can clearly see from the photo's that it's not got buckets and that it's not a UK car - so it's probably not in Preston either!
